Volunteering at The Whole Hub
Introduction
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Define the roles and responsibilities of volunteers within The Whole Hub.
- Establish guidelines for the recruitment, selection, and management of volunteers.
- Ensure a positive and respectful experience for both volunteers and The Whole Hub.
Volunteer Positions
We offer various volunteer positions that align with The Whole Hub’s goals. These positions may include, but are not limited to:
- Event support
- Administrative assistance
- Fundraising
- Program assistance
- Outreach and community engagement
Volunteer Recruitment and Selection
- All potential volunteers will undergo a screening process, including an application, interview, and reference check, to ensure alignment with the The Whole Hub’s values and mission.
- Volunteers will be selected based on their skills, experience, and the needs of the The Whole Hub.
Orientation and Training
-Volunteers will receive an orientation that provides an overview of The Whole Hub’s mission, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Training will be provided to equip volunteers with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
Volunteer Expectations
- Volunteers are expected to adhere to the The Whole Hub’s purpose, values, and policies.
- Respect the confidentiality of The Whole Hub’s information and maintain privacy.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with staff and other volunteers.
- Fulfil their commitments and inform The Whole Hub in advance if they are unable to fulfill their volunteer responsibilities.
Supervision and Support
- Volunteers will be assigned a supervisor who will provide guidance, support, and feedback.
- Regular check-ins will be conducted to ensure volunteers are comfortable in their roles and address any concerns.
Code of Conduct
- Volunteers are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner.
- Discrimination, harassment, or any form of inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Expenses and Benefits
- The Whole Hub may provide reimbursement for pre-approved expenses related to volunteer activities.
- Volunteers are not entitled to financial compensation, benefits, or employment status.
Termination of Volunteer Engagement
- The Whole Hub reserves the right to terminate a volunteer's engagement for reasons including but not limited to breaches of conduct, failure to fulfil responsibilities, or changes in The Whole Hub’s needs.
Grievance Procedure
- Volunteers are encouraged to report any concerns or grievances through the designated channels outlined in the The Whole Hub’s grievance procedure.
Insurance
- The Whole Hub will provide insurance coverage for volunteers in the course of their authorized activities.
Acknowledgment
All volunteers must read, understand, and acknowledge receipt of this Volunteers Policy. By volunteering with The Whole Hub, individuals agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined herein.
